  • Welcome to StarFish Dance & Yoga. Below you will find class descriptions for all our weekly classes. We are devoted to creating beautiful experiences and sharing practices that will help you connect with more passion, peace and aliveness.  We are located in the West Concord Village since 1995 and love this vibrant community we are surrounded by. We look forward to moving with you!

  • Ageless Grace

    Come and get your brain food! 40 minutes of physical play for your brain; fun, new neuropathways and a workout too! Ageless Grace is a cutting-edge fitness program based on neuroplasticity that activates all 5 functions of the brain and simultaneously addresses all 21 physical skills needed for lifelong optimal fitness. Although the movements are designed to be performed seated in a chair, the class delivers a great cardio workout and core conditioning for all ages and abilities.

  • BeSoul™ Dance: Love In Motion

    BeSoul™ is love in motion and it is a dance of awakening. BeSoul™ Dance provides an opportunity to connect to your deepest self through vibrant self-expression. Choreography is simple and enlivening, music is fantastic and varied. Each class is focused on cultivating awareness of your whole self in a loving, accepting and supportive environment. Join the BeSoul™ class and expand your spirit every time! We dance together to get fit in body, mind and soul.  

    BeSoul™ Experiences are retreats to strengthen the practices of awakening. They are places where we align ourselves to the universal evolution of life through movement, play and self inquiry. They are times to cultivate the connection to our true deep loving nature and to other beings, including our natural world.

  • Dance Spells

    Everything comes through the body. Our senses, our emotions, our intuitions, our inspiration... they are all amplified and felt in this mortal coil we call home. Bring your desires, wants, callings, awarenesses, surrenderings. We will clarify by writing and then free-dancing to embody and explore creating reality from the inside out. Develop this powerful practice in a deeply safe and supportive group.

  • JourneyDance

    JourneyDance™ is a powerful movement class that will take each participant through an inward journey using a blend of many disciplines including shamanic technique, chakra work and storytelling each accompanied by various musical genres. Facilitated by a certified guide each participant is given optional guidance to assist in opening up to their innate inner power and healing ability; this class is open to all levels of dance capabilities and ages. Using a delightful mix of both soothing and high energy, as well as optional group, partner and individual dances JourneyDance™ has something for each participant. It is recommended that participants bring a small blanket or towel, for some floor work as well as a journal for class reflection at the end. Come to experience something new, connect with others through dance, and most importantly journey deeply into the wisdom and power of YOU!

    Nia is an ecstatic yet deeply grounded body-mind-spirit fitness and lifestyle practice that empowers people to cultivate mental, emotional and spiritual health & fitness via joy and pleasure.     A safe nurturing place to explore the fundamentals of Yoga, or bring depth to your practice. You’re in good hands and from this base you can explore our other offerings. “If you can breathe, you can do this Yoga."

  • Gentle Yoga

    For beginners and/or people with specific physical problems: Arthritis, soft-tissue injuries, stiffness, inflexibility. Breathing, stretching and strengthening are emphasized to augment healing. Good for beginners and those recovering from physical ailments.

  • Hatha Yoga

    This practice integrates movement, mindfulness, and breath in order to align body, mind, and spirit for a deeper experience of self-awareness. The pace is gentle to moderate with some restorative postures incorporated as well. All levels welcome as props are available and modifications will be offered.

  • Kripalu Yoga : Gentle & Sunrise

    Integrates the mind, body and spirit in a deeply transformational process based on classical yoga postures and breath work. Emphasis is placed on linking breath with movement and on attention to the present moment. 

  • Laughter Yoga

    Laughter Yoga is a way to invite laughter into the world without having to wait for something funny. In this class, we court our inner lover of life and laughter by doing simple movements, sounds and exercises that deepen the breath, body awareness and laughter!
    We begin breath exercises and move on to simple movements and games that invite us to laugh out loud and laugh together. People of all ages and fitness levels can participate. Elevate your mood and decrease tension and stress!

  • Peaceful Mindful Yoga

    Uplifting and Serene. Smooth transitions through nurturing postures relieve anxiety, stress, and depression. Lots of breath, gentle encouragement, and introspection bring clarity. A good blend of Body, Mind, and Spirit. All levels welcome.

  • Mindfulness Meditation Intro

    Intro to Mindfulness Meditation Course – Mondays, 9am-9:45am, September 9-October 28
    Mindfulness is becoming more and more popular, due in part to the ability of mindfulness practice to alleviate stress, improve concentration, and increase immune function. This eight-week course introduces you to mindfulness, mindfulness-related concepts, and both formal and informal mindfulness meditation practices such as sitting and walking meditation, eating meditation, mindful movement and loving kindness practice. By regularly practicing mindfulness, you will develop greater resilience towards stress, you will be able to work with difficult emotions and feelings, you will discover greater compassion for yourself and others, and you will be able to savor pleasant experiences. At its most profound level, through mindfulness meditation you will become free, freer to be who you are.   
    Payment:  No class fee but donations to Starfish Studio will be greatly appreciated
    Commitment:  It would be best if you could commit to all 8 classes for continuity but it’s ok if you need to miss one or two classes.  

  • Qigong/Tai Chi

    Qigong is an ancient system of exercise originating in China over 2000 years ago for the purpose of promoting health and healing. Qi, pronounced Chee refers to life force or vital energy. We cannot see the qi in the body, but we can feel it. The word Gong means to develop or cultivate, therefore qigong exercises cultivate one's internal vital energy.  Qigong consists of breath awareness,  focused concentration and gentle rhythmic movement. Qigong can be practiced by people of all ages and abilities. 

  • Svaroopa Yoga

    Svaroopa yoga is particular style of hatha yoga that emphasizes the muscles at the tailbone and sacrum setting up a dynamic for tension release in the whole spine, back & body.   • Yoga For Stiff People

    Yoga for Stiff People is a class that focuses on movement and breath, with an emphasis on modifying for your specific needs (injury, limitation, etc).  The class is designed as a "session" to encourage people to come more often to yoga class.  The class begins with a gentle warm up and then builds into some deeper stretches.  We move slowly and the routine is fairly similar class to class so that people can see their progress. Since the price is lowered for a "session" -commitment to showing up is important.  There are generally no make up classes.    Yoga For Stiff People: Runs in 4 week sessions: Next session begins Feb 4th $80 per session (includes two classes a week) or come to one class a week for $50, Drop in is $17 or coupon from Starfish Email: kellywesternyoga@gmail.com to register.  Registration is required to get session discount.
